Douglas murder

These various pictures were taken at the scene of the crime on January 10, 2014, at 10:06 A.M. Mrs. Douglas called the North Pole police, alerting them that her husband Mr. Douglas was found dead. The only evidence found was an axe left at the stump of Mr. Douglas. His son Douglas Jr. was the only witness of the crime but as of now, is too traumatized.

I honestly struggled with this project because I had absolutely no idea what to do. Senioritis was getting to me and it became hard to really do anything. I wanted to do something Christmas related, maybe from the tree's perspective. It took a really long time to get this in the kelm. About two weeks top and today is the last day for any art projects so I rushed to finish this. Not my best work. I actually learned how to make Christmas trees by working with fondant and I applied this to my advantage. I originally wanted to put cotton around to make it resemble snow. Unfortunately in the kelm, one of the trees shattered. Originally Mr. Douglas was suppose to be missing but instead I used the shatter tree, which was suppose to be Mrs. Douglas, as the dead tree. I think it's pretty funny

Toothiana

I had such a hard time deciding what to do for the project. I wanted something that was cheap but versatile. "Hey, cereal is cheap," I thought. So I asked my dad to get the fruity pebbles but he got fruit loops instead. First I was disappointed but I made it work. My favorite part about this project was crushing the cereal into a fine powder to make the wings. It gave it texture and made Toothiana pop out. Even from a distance you can tell what it is. This took a while to make...cereal and glue is messy. But I'm happy with the end product. Everyone ate my leftover cereal. I enjoy the different textures and colors.

The Night Before Halloween

I was inspired by how pumpkins had the capability to have faces carved into them. It got me thinking about what if pumpkins could take on the persona of their carved faces. So I decided to draw a group of pumpkins, my repetition, all together on a porch. I wanted to paint them as if there was motion so I wanted the pumpkins to glow and be involved in some sort of plot. I painted two large pumpkins bullying two smaller pumpkins. I added several layers of paint, dark and light and plenty of yellow. Towards the end I just rubbed on yellow with my fingers and added different colors everywhere. I love adding colors on top of colors like red, white, green, and blue. I took a risk because I attempted to stray from the normal pumpkin and decided to paint them in different colors and shapes. A normal pumpkin would be perfectly round an orange. This is my 2nd time painting. Last time I painted was well over 3 years ago.

It's a girl!

Make-up A Cupcake

I used make up to make this and at first I hated it. Oh, how I wanted to burn it. But I decided to fix it by using cue tips and chalk pastels to fix the shading. Now it looks a lot better :D

What's the point?

I decided to use a white pencil to sketch out a skeleton because I just love the white and black contrast. For a better impact, I used acrylic paint to paint the red one, which somehow resembles blood. It's very hard to erase white pencil marks. So I took the risk to use a medium that was more permanent.
